Day 1 of a Facebook Free Life
I've now spent nearly 12 hours as a recluse. I'm getting the shakes. Food has lost all taste. I'm hungrily eying my neighbor's dog. I've started speaking to my stuffed rabbits...Oh, wait...I've been doing that for years. All told, it's not so bad so far, and I imagine it will only get easier as the days go on. I have to admit, I wasn't at all prepared for the extent to which people would be shaken by my decision to leave facebook. I was prepared for the comments on my status about how I shouldn't leave, because how could we possibly keep in touch!? What I wasn't prepared for was going to a party and having everyone there greet me with, "Why are you deleting your facebook?" Suddenly, I began to feel like some kind of social freak.
